            Prostitution Status Worldwide
•
"The position of prostitution and the law varies widely worldwide, reflecting differing opinions on victimhood and exploitation, inequality, gender roles, gender equality, ethics and morality, freedom of choice, historical social norms, and social costs and benefits. Legal themes tend to address four types of issue: victimhood (including potential victimhood), ethics and morality, freedom of choice, and general benefit or harm to society (including harm arising indirectly from matters connected to prostitution)."
•
"Prostitution may be considered a form of exploitation (e.g., Sweden, Norway, Iceland, where it is illegal to buy sexual services, but not to sell them — the client commits a crime, but not the prostitute), a legitimate occupation (e.g., Netherlands, Germany, where prostitution is regulated as a profession) or a crime (e.g., many Muslim countries, where the prostitutes face severe penalties)."
•
"The legal status of prostitution varies from country to country, from being legal and considered a profession to being punishable by death. Some jurisdictions outlaw the act of prostitution (the exchange of sexual services for money); other countries do not prohibit prostitution itself, but ban the activities typically associated with it (soliciting in a public place, operating a brothel, pimping etc.), making it difficult to engage in prostitution without breaking any law; and in a few countries prostitution is legal and regulated."

Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire • "The Roman Empire was among the most powerful economic, cultural, political and military forces in the world of its time. It was one of the largest empires in world history. At its height under Trajan, it covered 5 million square kilometres. It held sway over an estimated 70 million people, at that time 21% of the world's entire population. The longevity and vast extent of the empire ensured the lasting influence of Latin and Greek language, culture, religion, inventions, architecture, philosophy, law and forms of government on the empire's descendants. Throughout the European medieval period, attempts were even made to establish successors to the Roman Empire, including the Empire of Romania, a Crusader state; and the Holy Roman Empire. By means of European colonialism following the Renaissance, and their descendant states, Greco-Roman and Judaeo-Christian culture was exported on a worldwide scale, playing a crucial role in the development of the modern world." • Like what I share? An illusion of perspective, Saturn’s moon Tethys seems to hang above the planet's north pole in this view from @NASAJPL's Cassini spacecraft that was captured on Jan. 26, 2015. Tethys is actually farther away than Saturn in this image. Lacking visual clues about distance, our brains place the moon above Saturn's north pole, but like all of Saturn's major moons and its ring system, Tethys actually orbits almost exactly at the planet’s equator.⁣

Ursa Major is one of the most famous constellations in the sky, visible throughout the year from the northern hemisphere. The seven brightest stars of the Ursa form the asterism of the Big Dipper, which can be used to find other stars. In fact, by prolonging five times the distance that separates the two brightest stars of the constellation, Dubhe and Merak, the Polar Star can be identified. . . How Fair is the Electoral College? The electoral college misrepresents every state, but not as much as you may think
•
“Hillary Clinton surpassed Donald Trump by more than 2 million votes, but lost the electoral college 306 to 232. In raw votes, it was the largest popular-vote lead in history for a candidate who lost the election. The nature of the results has again stirred up debate about the merits of using the electoral college system.”
•
“A state’s electoral votes are equal to the number of representatives and senators the state has in Congress. House seat apportionments are based on population and are reapportioned every decade after the census. Every state is guaranteed at least one seat in the House and two in the Senate.”
•
“The electoral college is supposed to guarantee that populous states can’t dominate an election, but it also sets up a disparity in representation. While California has one electoral vote per 712,000 people, Wyoming — the least populous state in the country — has one electoral vote per 195,000 people.”

"Yes buddy, that’s your Mother Earth. Isn’t she beautiful?" Astronaut Anne McClain shared these images of an Earth plush toy that arrived on International Space Station (@ISS) aboard the @SpaceX #crewdragon that launched on Saturday, March 2 and docked to the orbiting lab on Sunday, March 3. Loaded onto the spacecraft prior to launch, Elon Musk, founder, CEO, and lead designer of SpaceX called the plush toy a "super high tech zero-g indicator." During the mission, astronaut Anne McClain shared what normal life was like on the orbiting outpost with the Earth plush toy. Living and working in space, they worked out, conducted science experiments, tested emergency procedures and more. The #crewdragon spacecraft went on to undock from the station on Friday, March 8, followed by a deorbit burn to reenter Earth's atmosphere and splashdown in the Atlantic Ocean. This completed the Demo-1 flight test, in which SpaceX demonstrated systems which will be used to carry astronauts aboard the #crewdragon to the station. Fifty years ago today, this iconic 'Earthrise' photo was taken aboard Apollo 8 by Bill Anders. Before humanity ventured to the Moon, our view of our home planet consisted of what we could see from horizon to horizon. It was not until this stunning photo (along with many others) came back to Earth with the three Apollo 8 astronauts in December 1968 that we saw Earth as a vibrant, delicate, blue and white globe framed by the velvety blackness of space. This iconic picture shows Earth peeking out from beyond the lunar surface as the first crewed spacecraft circumnavigated the Moon.

Captured by a crew member on the International Space Station (@ISS) on November 22, 2018, the full Moon is seen as the orbiting outpost was 252 miles above the Indian Ocean about 1,000 kilometers due south of India.
The Moon is the fifth largest moon in the solar system and the only place beyond Earth where humans have set foot. The brightest and largest object in our night sky, the Moon makes Earth a more livable planet by moderating our home planet's wobble on its axis, leading to a relatively stable climate. It also causes tides, creating a rhythm that has guided humans for thousands of years. The Moon was likely formed after a Mars-sized body collided with Earth.

New images from our Mars InSight lander show its robotic arm is ready to do some lifting. With a reach of nearly 6 feet, the arm will be used to pick up science instruments from the lander's deck, gently setting them on the Martian surface at Elysium Planitia. This image from InSight's robotic-arm mounted Instrument Deployment Camera shows the instruments on the spacecraft's deck, with the Martian surface of Elysium Planitia in the background.
The arm will use its Instrument Deployment Camera, located on its elbow, to take photos of the terrain in front of the lander. These images will help mission team members determine where to set InSight's seismometer and heat flow probe, the only instruments ever to be robotically placed on the surface of another planet.

Placement is critical, and the team is proceeding with caution. Two to three months could go by before the instruments have been situated and calibrated.

"Putting this journey into words will not be easy, but I will try. I am finally where I was born to be." In her first week in space, Astronaut Anne McClain is getting used to her new home in space with fellow new crew members Oleg Kononenko and David Saint-Jacques, who have been onboard the station since Monday. McClain and Saint-Jacques are first-time space residents.

Each day, the International Space Station (@ISS) orbits our home planet as the six humans living and working aboard the orbiting outpost conduct important science and research. Their work will not only benefit life here on Earth, but will help us venture deeper into space than ever before.

Views from space never get old! 👀 “It was in this fabulous country that I first learned what it means to travel beyond my #horizons and how to see the world with open eyes,” says European astronaut Alexander Gerst (@Astro_Alex_ESA) who captured these images of New Zealand as the International Space Station (@ISS) passed over during an orbit of Earth. Gerst is currently one of three humans living and working aboard our orbiting laboratory. Each day, the station completes 16 orbits of our home planet as the crew conducts important science and research. Their work will not only benefit life here on Earth, but will help us venture deeper into space than ever before. Parking in space: FULL! These photos taken by @Astro_Alex_ESA of the @EuropeanSpaceAgency show four different spacecraft docked to the International Space Station (@ISS). Currently, there are 6 spacecraft docked to our orbiting laboratory - the maximum amount that can be parked at one time. These spacecraft arrived at the station to deliver tons of science, hardware, crew supplies, fuel and much more!
