Halloween Rotator Cuff Release! [infraspinatus] - 🚨Like & Tag a Friend with jacked up Shoulders! - 💥 It's rotator cuff time! - They're four rotator cuff muscles and they stabilize the shoulder. Crucial to keeping healthy if you want to avoid shoulder injuries. We'll be starting off with the infraspinatus. - 👊 Anatomy Time - Looking at the diagram, you can see that the infraspinatus is below what they call the "spine" of the scapula which is that bone you see going across the top of the shoulder. - HERE'S HOW TO PERFORM THE INFRASPINATUS 🙌🏻 - 1️⃣ Place your back on a wall! 2️⃣ Place a tennis ball on the surface of the scapula! 3️⃣ Roll around and make sure you are on the infraspinatus. It can be pretty tender to most so start up with less pressure and work your way up! 4️⃣ Start with your elbow bent and inline with the shoulder. 5️⃣ Place pressure on to the ball. (PICTURE - NO RELEVANCE) Lat pulldown dont work the lats, at least not primarily Lets talk about grip: Elbow path is extremely important for training the back and it will usually indicate what part of the back is being biased. The lats usually requires an elbow position that passes close to the side of the body as the aim is to reduce retraction of the scapula and align more optimally with the lat fibres (lats dont retract the scapula) The classic pulldown on a straight bar with a pronated grip naturally / usually cause humeral abduction as it is compensating for the internal rotation of the wrist. If you try and keep a tight elbow path you'll find that commonly your wrists naturally go into external rotation. For most people i would advise a neutral grip for training the lat but you could do supinated as well I would personally no opt to use the 'pull down' maceine unless we changed the line of force / pull by using a bench and a neutral grip. Most people will probably end up with sore wrists, elbows and shoulders with an upper back pump IMO Have any thoughts? WEEK 7... LEGS.. All fueled by KAGED MUSCLE 🔥🔥 ***Don't stop the grind just because vacation starts*** Coming at you from Myrtle Beach SC.. This week's training is going to focus on hitting some heavier weights with lower rep ranges, still high volume sets. ***Up first, Barbell Squats, 4 sets of 8-10 reps. Rest 120 seconds between sets. Then, Leg Press, 4 sets of 8-10, same rest. After that, Hammer Front Squats, 4x8-10, 120 sec. Moving to Walking Lunges, 4 sets of 12-15, 60 seconds rest. Then Leg Curls, same rep scheme here.
