This week's training is going to focus on hitting some heavier weights with lower rep ranges, still high volume sets. ***Up first, Barbell Squats, 4 sets of 8-10 reps. Rest 120 seconds between sets. AT NIGHT makes you gain fat!⁣ ⁣ Let me get this straight.⁣ ⁣ When the sun goes down, the banana you're about to eat magically gains more calories? Just because it's dark outside?⁣ ⁣ How does that make any sense?⁣ ⁣ The food you are eating does not know what time it is.⁣ ⁣ Inanimate objects cannot tell the time.⁣ ⁣ The calories of your food will remain the same throughout the day.⁣ ⁣ Now, if your sleep is affected by eating at night, don't eat at night. Simple as that.⁣ ⁣ But for me, I like going to bed with a full stomach. So I am going to eat towards the end of the day. That's just a personal preference.⁣ ⁣ I would eat my dinner around 11:30pm every night.⁣ ⁣ I consistently lost 1-2 lbs every week for a year.⁣ ⁣ Why? Because I was in a calorie deficit. I was making sure that my calories were in check.⁣ ⁣ The reason I did not gain weight by eating at night was because I made sure to properly track my food intake.⁣ ⁣ You don't HAVE TO track your calories, but it will yield the best results, in my opinion.⁣ ⁣ The reason you are gaining fat is because you are in a calorie surplus. You are not burning enough calories / you're eating too much.⁣ ⁣ Don't blame carbs, eating at night, or sugar.⁣ ⁣ Yes, overeating ANYTHING can lead to fat gain. The amount of food that you eat obviously impacts the way your body appears. Some people track their macros and overall calories daily, and some people just wing it, or eat “intuitively” with consideration of their goal. Personally I used to overestimate how much I ate in the past (before tracking)... constantly under-eating when I wanted to gain mass, leaving me frustrated and stagnant in my progress to put on muscle... so I finally gave this whole “tracking your macros” thing a try, and it was tedious — but it worked wonders for gaining mass 🤯 After being able to 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐘 how much I really needed to be eating regularly for my goal (it differs depending on your goal), I transitioned to more intuitive eating, because I knew generally how many calories I was consuming since I mostly eat the same foods throughout the week. Only then was I able to 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐋𝐘 progress with gaining mass. If you are stagnant with weight loss or gain, try tracking your calories and see if you are eating what you need to consistently in relation to your physical goal. Then once you master tracking, intuitive eating can reduce the tediousness of inputting data, yet keeping you on track to consume the right amount of calories for your goal, given you have a great understanding of what you’re putting in your body.
