            Stefanos November 18, 2019

Stefanos #tsitsipas makes history by becoming the first ever #greek #tennis #athlete to win the #nittoatpfinals. Few would be surprised if @stefanostsitsipas98 – who fell to his knees in #joy with his head in his hands once Thiem sent a return wide to hand him #victory – followed along that path, and he must be viewed as one of the very #top contenders at the season-opening #australianopen . At only 21 years and three months, Tsitsipas is the youngest #nitto #atp #Finals #champion since former World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt (20) in 2001 in Sydney. Tsitsipas, who earned $2,656,000 in #prize money and 1,300 ATP Rankings points in five matches this week, is also the first player since David Nalbandian in 2005 to #recover from losing the #openingset and claim the #title.

Toronto Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard is looking to close out an emotional series against the Golden State Warriors in game 6 of the NBA Finals.⠀
⠀
And though the 27-year-old Leonard signed a five-year $94 million deal in 2015, made a salary of over $23 million this past season, Leonard has managed to remain one of the world’s most down-to-earth star athletes.⠀
⠀
For instance, as of 2016 — during a season in which Leonard earned over $16 million playing for the San Antonio Spurs — the NBA All-Star was still driving the same beat up SUV he’d had since high school.⠀
⠀
“It runs … and it’s paid off,” the famously reticent Leonard told Sports Illustrated.⠀

2001 WCF Game 4: Shaq (no-look pass on fastbreak) and Kobe (stretch oop + geosynchronous orbit achieved in last clip) and coach Pop were all as lively as ever as the Lakers completed their sweep of the team with the best record in the league. In retrospect, this game might have been the pinnacle of the Shaq and Kobe Lakers dynasty. The defending champions hadn't lost a Game since April 1st, winning the last 8 games of the regular season, then sweeping the Blazers in 3, then sweeping the Kings in 4, then the Spurs in 4. They lost only 1 game in the playoffs, the next one. That Game 1 of the Finals took place about a week after this series, whereas the Sixers - the team with whom the Lakers tied for 2nd best record in the league - had to grind out another 7 game series just to get to the Finals. This sweep of the Spurs was some sort of vengeance for the Spurs sweep of the Lakers two seasons prior, en route to their first title (1999). I think the Spurs almost certainly would have beaten the Sixers in the Finals. It was the Spurs after all who were the ballclub to win on both ends of the 3-peat ('99 + '03). The Lakers won this game 111-82. Game 3 was 111-72, Game 2 the closest at 88-81, and Game 1 was 104-90. It's hard to pin down an all time favorite moment for a player such as Shaq, but it's hard to top that fastbreak. It was everything about his career on display in one play. Grabs the ball, LEADS the fastbreak at 7'1" 350lbs, hilarious no-look pass to Kobe, then gets the ball back for the slam...then capped it all off by powerwalking back on defense. I'm so bored with the Kobe vs Shaq thing. It's been over. Let's just appreciate these moments as fans of the game. __ Shaq: 26pts (11-19) 10reb 1ast 2blk in 31 minutes played Kobe: 24pts (10-19) 2reb 11ast 2stl 1blk in 34 minutes played D-Fish had 28pts (11-13) and an unconscious 6-7 from 3. 🎶: "Livin it Up" by JaRule was released in 2001, two weeks after the NBA Finals. #lakers #la #kobe #shaq #frobe #diesel #thebigaristotle #mambamentality #WiltChamberneezy #Finals #nba #spurs #pop #basketball #basketbol #basket #baloncesto #2001 #2000s
