Absolutely love this picture from yesterday’s match. You can tell Marcus is like a role model to the academy lads, as he was once in their exact same position! ⭐️🔴

🗣 Phil Jones: “We want to get the group tied up as quickly as possible, but there are no easy games in Europe and we’ll treat it like we’ve done tonight and approach it in the right way.” 🔴

Andreas put in a shift today from a more central position. Rate his performance 1-10 👇🤔

LOAN WATCH | Dean Henderson kept a clean sheet for Sheffield United and helped his side win 1-0 against Arsenal 👏 He has kept 25 league clean sheets since the start of last season, which is more than any other goalkeeper in England’s top four tiers. [Opta] 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🔴

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has made 10 or more tackles in a Premier League game twice this season (vs. Norwich City and Southampton). Prior to this, no Man United player had done so since May 2012 (Patrice Evra vs. Swansea City). [Opta] 💪🔴

Andreas Pereira impressed many fans with his performance against Liverpool. Is he better playing on the right or through the middle? 🤔

🗣 Solskjær: “Now Anthony is back, I am quite happy with the options I have in attack. I’ve heard what some people have said about us being short of a genuine No.9, but Anthony has absolutely everything in his locker to take that role. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “He can be a target man, he’s quick, he’s technical – and one of the reasons he wanted to stay here was because I told him I saw him as a central striker. I don’t think people outside the club realise how good this lad is.” [Mirror]

🗣 Former Manchester United player Zoran Tošić: “I thought I could play for United but there was a reason I was not at their level. These players lived the football life at the top. Giggs was 36, Scholes 34. They trained at 200 per cent. They lived football 24 hours. It was a big surprise to me to see them do this, a big lesson. They were on bikes before training and in the gym after." [The Athletic] ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Serbian now plays for Partizan Belgrade, and he could play against us tomorrow 🇷🇸

Paul Pogba won’t be back until December, says Ole Gunnar Solskjær 😕 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🗣 “I don't think we'll see Paul [Pogba] before December. He'll be out for a while. He needs time to fully recover. I don't think he'll be back, maybe for Sheffield United after the international break, but probably it will be December before we can see him.”

Do you think Solskjær should continue with playing three at the back, or should he switch back to playing two centre-backs? 🤔👇

That man Tony Martial scores and makes it 3-0! Beautiful link-up play between him and Rashford 🔥⚽️

FT: Norwich City 1-3 Manchester United Solid performance from the lads today, and most importantly, the three points. The win takes us from 15th to 7th in the league table. Several good performances today, but my MOTM is Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Who was yours? 🤔

FT: Partizan Belgrade 0-1 Manchester United Vital three points claimed away from home. We are now first in Group L. Thoughts on the match? 👇

🗣 Solskjær: “I don’t listen to the president of Real Madrid. I am not worried now and I will never be worried in the future about Paul staying here. If it all kicks off again in January, there will be no worries then either. If we have to live with the speculation again, then we will handle it like we did in the summer.” [Guardian]

🗣 Erling Braut Håland on Solskjær: “He has had a huge impact on my life, both as a person and as a trainer. He won the Champions League and was an incredibly good player. He has taught me a lot. Solskjaer is a fantastic person and a very good coach. He is one of the reasons I am here today.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On his future, Håland added: “I have dreamed of playing for the best clubs in the world my whole life, and I especially like English football.” [TV2 via Sport Witness] 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Daniel James came off the bench and scored on his Premier League debut! A very special moment for the Welshman! 🙌

Starters against Astana❓🤔

Has Mason Greenwood showed Ole that he should be starting against West Ham this Sunday? Anthony Martial will not be available for the match, meaning there could be a place for Greenwood alongside Daniel James and Marcus Rashford. I personally would start him on the right-hand side of the attack, but that spot could also go to a senior player like Andreas Pereira or Jesse Lingard. What do you think? 🤔

I was disappointed not to see Fred given a place in the starting XI today alongside Scott. I really hope that he can at least start against Astana, but once Pogba comes back my preference would be a midfield three with Fred being a part of it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you agree? 🤔

Eric Djemba-Djemba recently spoke about his good friend Cristiano Ronaldo‘s time at Manchester United 🗣 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Sometimes Ferguson would tell Ronaldo ‘no’, but I never saw Fergie angry or unhappy at Cristiano. For Ferguson to be unhappy was very hard for him; he was like a dad with his kids! He could be unhappy if we were drawing a game or not playing well. He was like everyone, you can be unhappy because you’re not playing well. He never had a go at me; he was like my dad! He was a dad for Cristiano, John O’Shea, Fletcher, Bellion, even Rio Ferdinand! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “People can watch Ronaldo on the television, but they don’t know the real Cristiano. Cristiano is a man, who had a difficult time as a kid in football. People see him on the television and think he is arrogant or takes the piss out of people, but Cristiano is an emotional man. You need to talk to him to see who he really is. My mum passed away and he said Eric if you need me, you can call me, you can visit me, don’t worry I am here for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Every day when we were together at United, we drove to training together. Sometimes we would drive in my car; sometimes we would drive in his car. After training we went to eat at Nandos in Manchester; he helped me discover Nandos! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “When we went to away games, we were roommates. He was my best friend. We were together every single day for training; sometimes I would go to his house to eat as his mother was there with him when Cristiano was young. Sometimes he would come to my house to eat, as I was living alone in Rio Ferdinand’s old house!“ [American Gambler]

Something that currently seems really worrying is our away form. Our last win away from home goes all the way back to that night in Paris. Who would’ve expected us to go winless for nine away matches after that? 🤯 Especially when you factor in how good our away form was up to that match, it’s really difficult to comprehend how much of a reversal it’s been in terms of the results. Either way, we’ll have a great chance to finally end this winless drought on the 3rd of October when we travel to the Netherlands to face AZ Alkmaar.

🗣 Axel Tuanzebe: “Dreams do come true. I had goosebumps as I was walking out. It is something I have been working on for a long time and the moment finally came. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I am just grateful to the manager and grateful to the club and the players I am playing with for sharing this moment with me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “It was a nice surprise. I was literally getting ready to stretch and loosen up and Mike Phelan just came to me and said 'are you ready to go and see the referee'. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I said ‘what do you mean?’ and he said, 'Come on you are captain'. So I said 'alright, let’s get it'.” 👊

Paul Pogba has been directly involved in 18 Premier League goals since Ole Gunnar Solskjær took charge of Manchester United (10 goals, 8 assists), which, alongside Sergio Agüero, is the joint-most of all players in the competition. [Opta] ⚽️🎯

Two former Manchester United players—Dimitar Berbatov and Anderson—recently retired from playing football. Happy retirement to both of them! 🔴👋

🗣 Diego Forlán on the infamous clash between David Beckham and Sir Alex Ferguson: “It was a tremendous rift. It was after a match against Arsenal in the FA Cup and Ferguson was not happy because Robert Pires had made a break down the left, Gary Neville was caught too far forward, and Beckham did not cover. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “In the locker room, Ferguson and Beckham began to insult each other. Every insult was worse than the last one and both men wanted to have the final word. Then Ferguson left and it seemed that the discussion was over, but then Beckham said something else. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Ferguson turned around and saw a boot lying on the floor and kicked it toward Beckham. A stud hit him in the eyebrow and he was cut. We all saw the blood and thought 'no, that didn't happen' but within a moment both men were getting ready to fight. That was when Roy Keane and Van Nistelrooy stepped in to separate them.” [Mirror]
