Yes, avoiding plastic products, going vegan or taking shorter showers are ways to take care of our environment. We know what things are harmful to the planet and avoiding those things is always good! But even better than that would be creating solutions to the problems themselves! This is exactly what we want to do with our app. We imagine a day in which you can get rewarded with green products for every ecological challenge you complete! This way, millions of people will join the movement of taking care of the planet in a fun and memorable way. If you want to learn more about our app, the link in our bio goes to our official website. I'm order to be notified when the app comes out, make sure to leave your email on our website! We are so excited about what is coming and we can't wait to hear what you think! With love, The UrbanBees Team.

Light is beautiful. Life as we know it relies entirely on light. This won't come as a big surprise, it doesn't matter if you are a plant, a fish, a tiger or a human, your existence is possible because of the sun. This is the type of thing that you might just not think about so often, but it certainly deserves a moment of your time to look up to the sky and feel great about how far we have come as forms of life. Not only us humans, but all the creatures living in this wet rock that is floating in space. One of the most fascinating things you can see today is that some organisms have evolved to produce light on their own. This phenomenon is called Bioluminescence and it's breathtaking. It occurs often in marine vertebrates and invertebrates, as well as in some fungi, microorganisms including some bioluminescent bacteria and even terrestrial invertebrates such as fireflies. What no biology book is going to tell you is that we humans are in some way bioluminescent as well. Just look at your phone and see if that thing is not glowing, look at the parties we throw, look at your city and tell me if you don't see endless lights. Maybe we don't produce a form of chemiluminescence that shines in the dark, but we sure as hell make a lot of crazy lights. This post is not trying to convince you about anything, it really has no other purpose other than to remind you that the world we live in today and the future we are heading to is full of beautiful lights. So go and enjoy them! This is our planet, let's take care of it. With love, The UrbanBees Team.

There is so much truth in these words spoken by the talented Emma Watson. The best part about celebrities who care about our planet is that they push many of their fans to take action as well. We are not a celebrity, but we want to push many people to take action and together save our beautiful planet. If you want to be part of this, go to our website so you get notified when our app comes out! What does our app do? Oh, well... it rewards your for saving the planet. How does it work? Users can earn Urbees (in-app-currency) by doing challenges around their cities that are beneficial for the environment (For example, picking up garbage, planting a tree or even riding a bike) And then, they can use their Urbees to buy awesome products from our business partners.

PLEASE TELL US WHAT YOU THINK! We are very happy to finally show you a glimpse of how the app will look like! The image on the left shows the most important activity. This is where you can see how many Urbees you have and how many you can collect from your Beehive! The more Urbees are available to harvest, the more honey you will see inside of your Beehive! To collect your Urbees, press the Beehive and see how many you got! The other image shows your profile page. This one is useful to see the products you have bought using Urbees, take a look at your stats, invite a friend or to log out of your account! Our goal is to maintain this game-looking theme while also making it visually attractive and minimalistic. Nobody in our team is a graphic designer, but we don't think our designs are half bad. Of course, all your comments and opinions will be taken deeply into consideration! So please help us out by writing what you think down here in the comments! Yes, the news are devastating, but unless you are capable of donating money, there is not a lot you can do to help stop the fire and prevent future ones. But this doesn't mean you can't contribute in any way to save the planet. This is not the time to do what almost everyone will do, which is: Crying on the internet and feeling guilty because "humans are disgusting". Right now is the time to accept the mistakes we have made as individuals and as a species and start to make a change to help in ANY way we can. Avoid plastic products, recycle, save water, eat less meat, unplug unused devices! There are so many ways to help, we just need more people to do them. Unfortunately, not a lot of people will actually do something besides sharing and commenting on the topic, but YOU reading this can be the difference. At UrbanBees we set the goal to save the planet and we are not going to stop. We created an app that rewards people for saving the planet! This way, players will try to take more sustainable lifestyles because they enjoy getting rewarded for it, not because they felt horrible after watching millions of posts about animals sufffering and the damage we have done to our planet. Our app is completely free, so if you want to save the planet with us, you can sign up to be notified on your email (link in bio). Together we can save our beautiful planet.

Callback to March 2019, when we first invented the UX & UI for the app. We might just be 4 guys with laptops and a crazy idea, but we think we can change the world in a good way. We don't think we should use guilt as the means to move people towards a sustainable lifestyle. Most organizations try to do this by showing you animals suffering, places being destroyed or by presenting aggressive arguments that instantly put you in a bad mood. Imagine a world in which people just enjoy being environmentally friendly because they get awesome things as a reward for it. This will create a culture in which society finally associates good feelings with taking care of the planet. We want to push many people to take action and together save our beautiful planet. If you want to be part of this, go to our website (link in bio) so you get notified when our app comes out! Oh, you still don´t know what our app does? Well, it rewards you for saving the planet. How does it work? Users earn Urbees (in-app-currency) by doing challenges around their cities that are beneficial for the environment (For example, picking up garbage, planting a tree or even riding a bike instead of using a car) And then, they can use their Urbees to buy awesome products from our business partners. The ministry of agriculture is now planning to unlock millions of euros in aid to help prevent new forests from dying out in Germany. EURACTIV Germany reports. Approximately half a billion euros could flow into German forests over the next four years, as part of emergency aid to save the forests. This was announced on Thursday (20 August) by Agriculture Minister Julia Klöckner of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) after a meeting with representatives of the forestry industry, forest owners and nature conservation associations. For the next four years, around €640 million from the federal energy and climate fund will be used to save forests damaged by the heat, according to Klöckner. So far, the ministry has supported forestry policy with around €30 million a year, with an additional €10 million per year being allocated from 2020 onwards. Besides, around €25 million will flow into research and sustainability, the ministry states. This is good news, every investment in sustainability will pay off in the near future. You might not have millions of euros to invest, but that doesnt mean you can't be part of the change this planet needs! You can get rewarded for doing challenges that help save the planet when you play UrbanBees. If you are interested in our app and want to be notified when it comes out, go to the link in our bio, it also helps us a lot! With love, the UrbanBees Team.

We live in a time in which spreading an opinion to the masses is possible for everyone. If you look at the content in any social network, you will instantly see that the vast majority of the people are sharing opinions, but very few are actually acting upon them. We like this quote because we believe that, to make a difference towards saving the planet, its necessary to set an example. Not words, but actions that can potentially inspire more actions that sequentially inspire more and more. It is possible, we can change the planet, just start doing. Avoid plastic products, recycle, save water, eat less meat, unplug unused devices! There are so many ways to help, we just need more people to do them. Unfortunately, not a lot of people will actually do something besides sharing and commenting on the topic, but YOU reading this can be the difference. Stop focusing on negative feelings like guilt and fear to create awareness on climate change. Saving the planet is something positive and people should associate good feelings to it. Today we share with you our latest pitch, which was written to present at the Reboot Earth Hackathon from United Nations! It was an honor to work alongside amazing people joining efforts to save the planet in many different ways. We will appreciate it incredibly much if you tell us what you think and even more if you follow us to be notified when the app comes out! Together we will save the planet. Knowing that the EU is taking care of the Ozone Layer is always good news. The latest EEA’s annual report on ozone-depleting substances confirms that the EU keeps contributing to the global phase-out of chemicals harming the ozone layer, in line with its commitments under the Montreal Protocol. Ozone-depleting substances (ODS) are mostly used in refrigerants, polymers, pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals. You might not be an intercontinental organization, but that doesn't mean you can't be part of the change this planet needs! You can get rewarded for doing challenges that help save the planet when you play UrbanBees. Apart from not being one of our brightest ideas, using a honey fountain to attract more users was certainly a blast. The idea came when we were discussing our strategy to get enough users for when we launch the app later this year. The most logical way to accomplish this was by investing some money in social media and redirect people to our website, but since we don't have any money, we thought we could think of some better way to reach as many people without spending as much money. Well, at least that's what we thought. Buying a chocolate fountain, lots of fruit and 7 liters of honey sounded like a good idea at first because we thought we could use it multiple times. But what we didn't think about is that honey is very different from chocolate and also, that it's not easy to catch so many people's attention. Not only did we break the machine, but we had a very hard time reaching as many people as we wanted. We planned to get 500 persons to subscribe to be notified when the app launches. At the end of the day, we had struggled to get over 20. The point of this post is, besides making fun of ourselves, to reflex on how even a very stupid idea can lead to some good things as well. Yes, we did lose more money than we would have by investing in social media ads, but we got the opportunity to talk to people in person about our company, about the thing we are most passionate about. We got the opportunity to answers their questions in person and to see how some got thrilled by the concept and couldn't wait to use it, while others couldn't care less about getting green products in exchange for being eco-friendly. And besides everything, the honey fountain survived beautifully for a couple of hours before beaking down. You face decisions every day in your life, but most of them are not as hard as those that determine what will happen to something you really care about. We really care about UrbanBees and for that reason taking decisions can be tough sometimes, but we should never forget that being wrong sometimes means that you know how to be right the next time. Go and try to do that thing you believe is right. The UrbanBees team Special thanks to @WeWork!

We liked this quote from the last post because it sums up a big part of what we have been through building this startup. We love being wrong and failing because that is the only guaranteed way to improve. We are working currently on getting enough products in the in-app store so you can enjoy getting rewarded for saving the planet very soon! If you want to be notified when the app comes out, make sure to go to the link in our bio! We are so excited about what is coming and we can't wait to hear what you think! Ecological tip anyone can do to save food from being thrown away and wasted: If you are shopping at the supermarket and you find a single banana, (Not part of a hand of bananas) buy it because no one will likely buy it and it will probably end up being thrown away after a few days! This kind of small changes in our lives might seem meaningless for the big picture at first, but remember that no big change can exist without emerging from smaller actions. @gretathunberg and @fridaysforfuture are striking to make governments and companies more sustainable, but what can you do as an individual who wants to save our planet? Well, you start at home, at work, at school and wherever you can have an impact at. Our vision is to inspire millions to switch to a more ecological lifestyle, for that reason we created UrbanBees. It's an app that basically turns the eco-lifestyle to a game in which the rewards are green products. Complete ecological challenges like planting trees or picking up trash to earn points and then use your points to buy awesome green products! If you want to be the first one to play when the app launches (Next month) go to the link in our bio to be notified the day it comes out! With love, The UrbanBees Team

Good Morning, here is a little fact that can help you stay optimistic about climate change! We are going in the right direction. Energy from renewable sources is cheaper than ever before. By 2030, wind and solar power will “undercut existing coal and gas almost everywhere,” according to BNEF’s New Energy Outlook 2019. Everyone can do something to help save the planet and UrbanBees is the app that rewards those who do. Imagine if you could earn prizes based on how much you do to help save the planet? That's is exactly what UrbanBees does. Go to our site (link in bio) if you want to be notified when the application comes out!

Callback to April 2019, when we filmed the "trailer video" for @urbanbeesapp with @elizabeth_moiseyeva . We definitely had a lot of fun and also learned A LOT. ♥️ Our video, directed by @diegolenpb , failed to deliver the message that we intended, which made a lot of people believe that UrbanBees was a dating app. With all the knowledge and feedback acquired, we are working hard on the next one, which you will be able to see very soon. If you are interested in our app, the one that rewards you for saving the planet, and want to be notified when it comes out, go to the link in our bio! It also helps us a lot! This #milka was the first product in the world to be bought using #Urbees , which were earned by the first users to ever download and try out the app. Today is a good day to call back to June 2019, the time we made our first user testing event. It was a small event at the University's Library @hochschule_fulda to which we only invited a few friends that we trusted to give us their opinions and feedback. We believe it's necessary to look back and see where we come from. That time was just a test with friends, but tomorrow it will be people from all around the world doing challenges that help save the planet to earn Urbees and then spending those Urbees on amazing prizes. We are UrbanBees and, together with you, we will change the world.

Incredible. This is an amazing example of what's possible to accomplish when humans aim their focus towards what really matters; our planet. You are not Scotland and maybe its hard to feel like you are having an impact that matters, but it is possible to be part of the change our planet needs! Thanks a lot for all your feedback on the trailer video. It has come to our attention that many people understood the concept of our application as a Dating App, which is completely mistaken. We want to apologize for not being clear enough with our video. UrbanBees is a mobile application that rewards people who do something to save the planet. You can earn points by completing challenges given by the app and then spend your points to buy awesome real-life products. The idea is to get more and more people to really take care of this beautiful planet of ours and have fun while doing it. We are really excited about our next video which will explain everything better! Until then stay tuned!

In addition to being one of the largest cities in the world, Moscow is an authentic beauty. The city lights create an almost magical effect that can capture the eyes of any lucky creature. On the other hand, the Cuckoo wasp has an impressive metallic blue color created by structural coloration that makes it unique. Moscow and the Cuckoo Wasp have absolutely nothing in common, except, they share the same beautiful and shining colors. There is no doubt that nature is beautiful, but humans have proved that we are also capable of creating beautiful things as well. We should be able to exist in harmony with this planet, but for that, we need to change a lot. Everyone can do something in order to eventually become sustainable! If you want to become part of the change, save the planet and even get rewarded for it, UrbanBees is going to be a fun journey for you.

Good morning! It is always nice to hear good news about sustainability. A study released yesterday from the University of California provides the most complete list yet of the advantages of solar energy, from carbon sequestration to improvements for pollinator habitat. A very relaxing place to meditate about how to save the world ⚓️ 📷@hamburg_and_more

This is something very important to understand. A lot of people complain because they “don’t have time” or the “energy” to achieve what they want. But that is the wrong mindset. If you really care about someone or something you will always save time and energy for them because they give you a purpose. For example, we like to work even if it’s Saturday/Sunday/3am or even holidays because we want to make our dreams happen.

Saturday is networking day for us! Today we went to a Meetup about building an App Start-up organized by Rabil Smith | CEO of Newarc Networks and reinforced our know-how on building MVPs in a tech startup.

Said 2500 years ago, but still remains true today.
