500D everyone?? 😅
One of our earliest experiments to create a podcast recording studio using open source tools. In June 2016, we used a raspberry pi and connected it to a TV (50 in. Screen) followed by a microphone. It worked well - audacity would crash sometimes, and the external USB would unmount occasionally. But it worked, and how! Here is an image from those times.
Colorful water colour work by Vasanth, a co worker at @WeWork in Bengaluru. He is a narrator, media person and a painter too. A man of many talents! #creativity like this makes a work day interesting
That is one interesting looking restaurant!
Now that’s one cooool podcaster! Saw this beautiful statue in Vadodara on my way to the airport. It was nearly five in the morning, and the lighting wasn’t ideal. But I am glad I could snap this guy up!
Beautiful artwork on the face of a wine barrel. Too bad such creativity is hidden away in a cellar :-).
Life is all about opportunities...we look forward to those that are yet to present themselves. Have a great weekend!
What do you mean by “We will not share our food with you?” I am confused.
You cannot keep a podcaster away from a microphone. Thanks Yogesh Dashratn for taking for this picture @storytel.in office in Mumbai...for the past three years, the relationship between gaatha story and Storytel has been fruitful, looking forward to the times ahead!
Sometimes we feel lost, helpless and hopeless. But then the unexpected happens. Wait for the unexpected. Its worth it. This morning I saw this puppy while I was walking Buddy. This little guy was probably lost or worse abandoned. He had a collar around his neck, so I assumed the latter. The little guy was cold, wet, and hiding behind a car. Thanks to an ever curious Buddy, I found him. A few biscuits and some petting later, he was ready to get leashed. A few phone calls, Whatsapp messages and conversations later, he found a foster home. Total time taken : three hours. I was fortunate to play a small role in this incident. The person with the biggest heart was the one who took the puppy home. On a bad day you may feel like this puppy. But there are good, no, awesome people on this planet. They are always happy to help. Have a great weekend!
Golden sky... As the sun set in Mumbai this evening, I could not resist taking these pictures. And once it was dusk, the skyline of Bandra area looked so pleasant.
“This car is actually my observation post. From here I can look to my left, and right and front. Isn’t it fun?” I saw this delightful sight this morning while I was dropping my car off for servicing. By the time I returned, the puppy was gone. Next time he will get a treat from me.
Great way to greet passengers who leave Mumbai airport. Loved the colors in this Rangoli..The text in Marathi language means “The various flavours if the state of Maharashtra.” #csiamumbai
What was your first investment in a tool or resource to improve your productivity this year? For me, my workstation gets an ergonomic upgrade! I was looking for a way to prevent myself from spending long hours sitting and working. A random search on amazon resulted in this purchase. Because we were visiting my In Laws, I had the Portronics My Buddy+ delivered in Vadodara. (Yes, the pictures were taken on the kitchen table). Here’s to a healthier back and shoulders in 2019... since this is a workation for me, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.
The first thing that hits you about the Statue of Unity near Vadodara is its sheer size. They say its twice the size of the Statue Liberty, and at over 500 feet, it shows. As the size sinks in, then the real joy of the experience begins. Glad we could visit this beautiful site today. #photographers_of_india
Happy Friday evening! What are you listening as you await the clock to reach the magic numbers? We just finished two awesome episodes of Command Line Heroes. Loved the Star Wars analogies :-) #tgifriday
The Beauty and the Beast... I saw this sculpture in the lobby of an office building in Mumbai. Most people walked past it- maybe they had seen it enough number of times. But I couldn’t resist taking this picture. Arriving at a business meeting a few minutes before can have advantages. Such moments are an example of that.
How many of you remember listening to podcasts on CDs? I found these jewels during today’s spring cleaning expedition. I had recorded these in 2005 or 2006. You can guess what happened next :-)
Images from our walk in the vineyards and forests near Ahrweil, Germany. In order: 1. abandoned railway bridge converted to a rock climbing wall, 2. Town of Ahrweil 3. Bunker for the (then) West German Government officials from Cold War Era 4. Winehouse and restaurant 5. Vineyards, of course. Hard to believe we were here merely 48 hours ago. It had snowed in the morning, and it was cold and wet as 20 of us began the walk around 10:30. By noon, the sun had begun to shine, and the rest of the walk was absolutely enjoyable. Towards the end, it began to get cold again (by 4 pm) and by night, I had a fever, fortunately it broke late night and I was fine by the morning . It was not a difficult trek but it was my first long walk/trek after three years. Strenuous but worth it!
TGI Wednesday! All podcast episodes for this week (we have 9 shows and counting!!) are published or scheduled to be published. One of the best decisions we made early on in our podcasting journey was to schedule episodes in advance. It has not been a journey without any troubles. But setting systems in place has been super helpful. how do you schedule your podcast episodes??
Breadgasm. No other word can probably describe this better :-) I grt greeted every morning by these breads in the breakfast room in the hotel. #breadmaking is an art and these guys seemed to have learnt it well !
Herbal tea, anyone?
It’s 6:15 A.M. On the dot, a paw hits your arm. Followed by a wet nose on your cheek. Finally, an ear-lick and a loud bark. Five minutes later, sights like these greet you. Bright colored leaves. Trees in full bloom. The daytime temperatures may make you feel that summer has set in, but spring mornings are lovely in Bengaluru.
Coffee + Pretzel. My day is made :-). After a 3 am flight from Bengaluru, any amount of coffee is welcome. This has almost become a ritual during a trip to Frankfurt. Do you have a ritual or two that you follow during business trips?
I saw this flower at the breakfast table this morning, and at first I thought it was a faux flower. But then my coworker with whom I was having breakfast told me that the flower was freshly cut. I touched it and voila! It indeed was fresh and fragrant. So I did the next logical thing, I snapped it up. #photography #picture #portrait #portraitphoto #portraitphotos
Happy Earth Day ... what earthy activity are you planning to do today?
Saw this beautiful sewing machine tucked away in a little corner in a hotel. At the end of a long day of meetings, presentations and all good things that happen in conferences, this was a sight for sore eyes. Have you ever operated a sewing machine?
Find the missing piece. Happy Weekend and have a great Mother’s Day Weekend.
Traditional German Pizza (FLAMMKUCHEN) in German countryside. We went for a trek in the vineyards and had some awesome pizzas. Next on the agenda is a wine cellar tour. The day began with snowfall and some chill in the air, but the warm sunshine made it all worthwhile. We ate the vegetarian pizzas of course, but our fellow travellers loved the ham and pepperoni ....
Hope you had a fruitful week. Happy weekend!
I decided earlier this year that I will stop looking at emails in which I was marked in cc. Four months later, 800 unread emails. Considering the world did not come to an end, I think it is doable. Imagine the time saved by not reading or to responding to those messages! More time to make customer calls, and to write more posts. Have a Productive workweek ahead.
When a good book is printed on #sustainable paper, the reading experience becomes even more awesome.
